Koru Kindergarten is a very unique kindergarten that provides quality education and care for children from the age of 3 months until 6 years.
We cater for children from our community as well as the Stratford High School Teen Parent Unit.
We are licensed for 42 children and our teachers are all qualified and registered teachers. Our ratios are: 1:3 for under 1 year olds, 1:4 for 1- 2 year olds and 1:10 for 2– 6 year olds.
All meals for children are provided, which includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
We are open from 8am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. We are closed on public holidays, one week in July term break and also over the Christmas holidays.
Kindergarten Environment
Our Kindergarten is part of the Kidscan programme. This means that they provide our Kindergarten with food for your child while they attend. Also, every child enrolled gets a pair of shoes and socks (summer), a pair of gumboots (winter), a jacket, and other resources that support whānau.
For part of our curriculum we offer our tamariki the opportunuity to participate in a number of extra curricula activities. We participate in Kapa Haka and Playball Taranaki sessions fortnightly. We also take our older children on farm walks where our tamariki get to explore with nature on a deeper level.
Oral Language and Social Competence is a huge part of our everyday teaching as we believe these skills will set children up for life.
