Nau mai, tauti mai – come in any time! We are very proud of our unique learning environment and would love to show you around. Frankleigh Park kindergarten is a wonderful place to learn!

We are a community based Kindergarten where children’s strengths are acknowledged and celebrated. This is evident through the enactment of ako, where children’s and whānau sense of belonging is nurtured.

We have an incredibly beautiful, big playground, full of lush trees and shrubs ideal for discoverers, curious learners and creative imaginations. There’s space for active movement, as well as peaceful places to connect with nature/ te taiao, and make sense of our natural world.

Children engage in a curriculum that strongly reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi and sustainability-based practices. They lead their own learning, supported by responsive teachers. A range of teaching strategies are employed that promote exploration and extend children’s thinking about ways the world works.

Our philosophy emphasises relationships, whānau involvement, sustainable practices, inclusion and Te ao Māori. It is underpinned by the values of ‘kaitiakitanga, whakamana, manaakitanga, ngā hononga, whanaungatanga, ako and kotahitanga’.

Community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We value the relationships, and look forward to making new connections, embracing the multiculturalism and diversity of our community.

We have strong links with our local Primary schools, which supports the transition to school for you and your child, as he/she transitions on from Kindergarten.

Whānau Comments

“Moving our two tamariki to Frankleigh Park Kindergarten was the best choice we ever made for our whānau. The indoor and outdoor spaces are so well thought out and creative, giving so much opportunity for independent play and learning outcomes – I love the amount of nature surrounding the space! The kaiako are so incredibly friendly and supportive, and the diverse and welcoming community is something I am forever grateful for.”  Nga mihi, Liah

“I wholeheartedly recommend Frankleigh Park Kindergarten for any family considering kindy for their tamariki. Our 4 year old started just before she turned three and we have loved joining the FP kindy whānau and watching our girl develop and  thrive under the guidance of her kaiako. The staff are nurturing, intuitive and work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition to kindy. They are wonderful at being able to identify the interests and strengths of each child and help foster these with support and curiosity. The physical environment is the best in Taranaki! Exceptional green space, shady areas and gardens to explore. The kaimahi work hard to foster a sense of community and relationships with the local primary schools to ensure readiness and confidence for the next step in learning.” Emily (Mum of Tilly)
