Eltham Kindergarten

OUR PHILOSOPHY:

At Eltham Kindergarten tamaiti will experience a fun learning environment for all ages and stages from 2 to 6 years, where empathy, patience, perseverance, risk-taking, curiosity and creativity are encouraged and role modelled.
Kaiako view tamariki as taonga, and as competent, confident life-long learners. We treasure each tamaiti and all that they bring with them in their kete of knowledge.

We are committed to whanaungatanga, building strong working partnerships with our whānau, iwi and local community. We take pride in our natural environment. We encourage and support caring for, and promoting a more sustainable future through Enviroschools kaupapa.

“Kia manawa pīharau!”
“Be steadfast, committed and determined to reach your goals! Be strong, with great endurance and stamina!”

WHAT MAKES OUR KINDERGARTEN SPECIAL?

A commitment to ongoing learning to ensure that Te Reo and Tikanga is visible and reflected in our programme.
Strong relationships with whānau and links with our local community- including schools, community garden, library, food bank.

Recognition and support for developing children’s Emotional and Social Competence as vital to children’s learning- developing independence skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Respect for self, others and the environment interwoven through the programme.

Hands on learning, where children are actively involved in decision making, are involved in their learning and contribute to the learning of others.

The kindergarten will contact you and let you know when your child may be able to start. The starting time will depend on the length of the waiting list.

If your child is over two, make contact with the kindergarten and kindergarten staff will arrange to enrol your child.

Our Kindergartens are as unique as the children who attend, we take pride in the fact that no two Kindergartens are the same – we encourage you to visit and find the one that best suits you and your child.

Feel free to contact the kindergartens of your choice and arrange a visit. You will be made most welcome.
